El Nido Resorts celebrated Earth Day last April 22, 2013 with coastal and underwater cleanups, games, and a poster-making contest. Good food and a beach jam capped off the event.
A total of 130 volunteer staff and 1 guest from Miniloc, Lagen, and Pangulasian Island Resorts joined in the festivities. They cleaned up the beaches of Pinagbuyutan, Cove 4, Dilumacad, Big Lagoon, Turtle Island, and Dolarog, collecting 353 kg of trash for their troubles. Not bad for a day’s worth of work.

The ENR staff also showed off their artistic skills and care for the environment through the Earth Day poster-making contest. Entries were judged based on content (the message), the use of recycled materials, creativity and originality, and the number of staff votes. A total of 16 staff joined the contest, with Pascual Arriesgado (LIR Purchasing) emerging as the overall winner. The runners-up were Raymond Ranit (MIR Guest Activities and Marine Sports) and Jerald Navarro (PIR Human Resources).
